What does a UI UX Designer do?
Designs how apps and websites look and work, from user flows and wireframes to final screens and clickable prototypes, and tests them with users. Works with product managers, developers, researchers and business teams.
A typical day: You might start by reviewing a feature brief with the product manager and sketching user flows. Much of the day goes into designing screens in Figma, updating the design system and building a prototype for testing. You also run quick user tests or review session recordings, and hand off designs to developers with specs.
How people get in: B.Des/M.Des (NID, IIT IDC, MIT ID) is common, but many come from other degrees with UX courses; a strong portfolio of case studies is what gets hired.
